Information: This independently-owned 4* London Bridge Hotel, which opened in Autumn 1998, is an ideal location on the edge of the City of London. The hotel is situated on the fast developing Southbank and sights such as Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Vinopolis are all a short stroll away. The new Excel Exhibition Centre is also within easy reach by Jubilee line and Dockland's Light Railway, the journey takes about 20min. The hotel site has a heritage which dates back to Roman Britain when the area was already at the centre of links with Europe - both in commerce and communications. The site was most recently a former telephone exchange and its 1915 facade has been restored as a local landmark for the community. The hotel has 141 air-conditioned bedrooms with a range of facilities, which make this an attractive choice for business as well as leisure guests. All the bedrooms have satellite television, voice mail telephone, mini-bar, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press, safe (large enough to take a laptop computer) and modem/fax port. There is also a bar, restaurant and gym at the hotel.
